Sara's Possible New Project

Sara has some fabrics in her stash she wants to get moving on.  She's been looking for a pattern and some additional fabric to go with these.  One possibility would be Chinese lanterns.  It just takes a little imagination.  We will see if she gets started on this over the next few weeks.

Sara's Fabric

Sara has just received new fabrics that were ordered on-line.  She really loves yellow and blue, so these fabrics will keep her busy for sometime.  There is a wonderful selection here.
Sara bought yardage for her Oriental collection.  This fabric will be absolutely perfect for the backing.
This stack of Autumn colors is perfect for Sara.  They are definitely her colors.
I'm eager to see the quilts that will be developed from such outstanding fabrics.

Our dear friend and fellow quilter, Renee is in the hospital this week.  We'd all like to wish her a Refuah Shalama, speedy recovery and a quick return to our group.

Susan's Basket Quilt

Susan has been hand quilting this adorable scrappy basket quilt.  She just bought fabric for the binding which is so, so cute.  It's interesting to see the frame that she is using with this quilt.  Usually I see her doing this free hand.

New Fabric From Pissott

On a recent trip to Pissott I came home with these little goodies.  First, I bought these little odds and ends which I love for my scrap quilts.  It helps to give me variety.
I bought a few of these designs.
This is special tape to help put left over pieces of batting together.  I'll let you know if it's OK.  I usually hand stitch the pieces together. This will make this chore faster.
And would you believe this fantastic panel? I have no idea how I would quilt it.

Pink String Quilt

Before Pesach (Passover), Shoshana L started a pink String Quilt.  She had little time to work on it, but she showed us her progress at our last meeting.  She is going away for a few weeks, so it will have to wait for her return to finish it.

The Kotel

During Pesach (Passover) my husband and I went to the Kotel (Wailing Wall).  Of course everyone else had the same idea.  There were so many people there which is not the easiest time to go.  But, I certainly was happy that we went.  Here are just a few pictures that I took.

Trip To Pissott Part 4

While at Pissott during Pesach (Passover) we met Esther Tive-Elterman.  She brought her Crazy Quilt Challah cover for everyone to see.
This item and her Crazy Quilt Shulchan Cover were featured in Jewish Threads by Jewish Lights Publishing. This book presented many projects from Jewish women around the world.  Copies are available through Pissott.

Trip To Pissott Part 3

Terry and Carol have been working on the Benji project in Ra'anana where they live.  They plan on making 50 quilts that will be donated to single soldiers in Israel.  At present they are half way towards their goal.  These quilts show great ideas on how to make scrappy quilts.

Trip To Pissott Part 1

Every year at Passover (Pesach), Nurit and family from Pissott, have an open house.  It's a real fun time to go.  There are fabrics on sale, quilts to see and lectures for those that have the time.  This year I went with Sara, our driver.  Susan, Avigail and Shifra also were able to come and we all brought home some goodies.
