Karen's Necklace

I couldn't help but notice the necklace that Karen was wearing to our Monday get together.  It sure looked like a necklace that any quilter would like.  It looked like a modern scrappy quilt to me.  What do you think?

Hawaiian Quilting

Sara and Susan took a class on Hawaiian quilting at the Israeli Quilters Association Conference.  They were unable to finish their projects that day.  The projects are ongoing and they are still working on them.  This is Sara's.  She was explaining to us how they made their patterns.
This is Susan's.  She has been bringing this project to our quilt group and is continuing to finish the applique.

Protect Color

Protect Color by Ideal seems to be another product that helps fabrics from running.  I recently tried this and it works just as well as two other brands that I have tried.

New Magazines

Sara has received 3 new magazines and wow, they are terrific.  I always think, do we really need another magazine?  We have so many already.  The answer is yes, after we see the latest.

Shifra's Flower Quilt

Shifra has been working on this flower quilt and was unhappy with it till she found a brown fabric of all things.  It never accured to her to use brown but when she did, Shifra said that was what was missing.  Here it is getting ready to be sandwiched.

Sara's Yellow and Blue Quilt

I call Sara's new quilt "Sunshine" because that's what I think of when I see.  It's on her king size bed now and Sara loves it.
Here I am helping Sara trim the quilt after Susan did all the machine quilting.

Here is Susan explaining to the ladies what she did.  We just love show and tell.
And here are some close up pictures of the quilting.
What a wonderful job by both ladies.

Renee S Finished Quilt

Renee has finished the quilting on her Disappearing 9 Patch.  Just in time too.  She is off to the USA in a week and will be taking it along.  She used puffy batting on this with a flannel backing.  It's so soft and cuddly.

I'm Sewing Again

After being away in Tsfat, up North, I'm back to doing some sewing again.  This is how I left this comfort quilt before I left.  It was sitting and waiting for my return. I'm putting on the binding now.  This quilt has taken much longer than I expected.  That seems to happen often.
My six pointed stars are coming along.  No rush for this quilt.  I expect this hand pieced quilt to take forever.

Watching Rina Make The Yellow Brick Road

We've been watching the progress of Rina's quilt.  She says this pattern is easy and comes together quickly.  Here she discussed color options for the boarders.  So far purple and green seems to be the best choice.
Here she is with the boarders.
Rina has someone embroider special messages or names in Hebrew on all her quilts.  Here is a close up of the Hebrew.
And here is the back of the wonderful quilt.

Prayers and Squares Quilt

Hadasseh from The 2 Spies blog has made a special request.  You can see this on her blog dated Thursday, July 14th.  A little 8 year old boy, Aminadav, has cancer.  Hadasseh is requesting we send in squares, 6-10 inches, that will be used in making a special prayer quilt for him.  Her blog address is http://the2spies.blogspot.com/
Please check it out.  Thank you, Etty

We, also, would like to send a big thank you to Sue for donating some lovely fabric that just arrived from the States.  I'm sure this fabric will enhance our comfort quilts.

We Have A Winner

Congratulations to Mimi from Canada.  She was picked today as the winner of our 300th Post Giveaway.  Here is Rochel picking the winning ticket.
Mimi, please get in touch with me.  I need your full name and mailing address.  I will get this in the mail as soon as possible.

Quilt Ideas Everywhere

You can find quilt pattern ideas everywhere.  I recently bought a used chess set for one of my grandsons.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  What a great quilt pattern on the chess board just waiting for someone to give it a try.  In years to come he may remember his grandmother (Bubby) loved to make quilts.
While I was recently in a hospital in Tsfat helping to take care of my grandson, I found something very interesting.  In several rooms on the floor, you guessed it, a quilt pattern.  It was the Square In A Square.  I shouldn't be so surprised.  Quilt patterns are everywhere.

300th Post Giveaway

Just a reminder that this Monday, July 18th, we will pick the winner of our giveaway.  There is one more day to sign up.  You don't have to be a follower, although that would be nice.  We are giving away 1 Meter of this unique fabric that any quilter would enjoy.
This past week I spent a great deal of time in Tsfat.  My little 1 1/2 year old grandson was ill in the hospital and I spent time helping to take care of him.  I'm grateful to Hashem for his recovery and that he has just returned home and is doing better.  A big thank you to my hubby for continuing our blog by posting the drafts that were ready to go.

Three Little Kittens

Susan has adopted 3 newborn kittens and I mean newborn.  She and her family have been feeding them every two hours.  Well, they seem to like sleeping on quilts (cat naps); so, Susan is allowing them to sleep on this lovely log cabin quilt top.  Now that is love.

Shopping At Budrutz

Budrutz has wonderful new fabric.  And, of course, I had to take advantage of it.  Just take a look.  These first 2 fabrics really go well together and will make a wonderful little boys quilt.
I found wonderful sky fabric with white clouds.  I hope someday to make a landscape.
And her are some more goodies.
